Venipuncture as a Professional Competency

Venipuncture as a Professional Competency

In recent years, numerous efforts have been made to secure the recognition of venipuncture as a professional competency for dentists. This is now a reality that will lead to improvements in the sector.

1. A Long Road to Success

The General Council of Dentists has spent many years working toward the recognition of venipuncture as a professional competency for the profession. Extensive debates involving senior officials from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, as well as universities, have taken place.

Thanks to all this work, venipuncture as a professional competency is now a reality. This has been decided by the legal departments. Consequently, the Dentistry degree program now includes this technique.

2. Benefits of Venepuncture as a Professional Competency

Including venepuncture as a professional competency offers several benefits. First, it provides greater autonomy in the practice of the profession. At the same time, it improves the dental treatments offered.

Why does this lead to an improvement? Because these treatments may include growth factors, such as plasma, which provide a wide range of therapeutic benefits to patients. For example, they promote healing or regeneration and, consequently, speed up recovery time.

In this way, not only do those in the profession benefit from venipuncture as a professional skill, but so do the patients who visit their offices. Greater efficiency and effectiveness lead to a more satisfying experience. As we know, customer satisfaction is vital, and it is the driving force that should motivate us to improve.

At Inspiria, we celebrate the widespread adoption of treatments made possible by venipuncture as a professional skill. Stay up to date with our news and take a step forward in your career with the training we offer.
