This workshop focuses on explaining and practicing the arthrocentesis technique. Arthrocentesis is a simple and minimally invasive technique that has been shown to be effective in reducing joint pain and increasing range of motion in cases of TMJ locking and pain. In addition, it has the advantage of being performed under local anesthesia, and it is believed that when the lavage is performed with sufficient hydraulic pressure, it is possible to dilate the narrowed joint space and release any joint adhesions that may be present, making it an effective therapeutic tool for this type of temporomandibular disorder.
